How do I keep my content from sounding like AI?
In college, we played cassette tapes to hear our favorite musicians. We had stereos that could copy our friends’ cassettes (probably illegal!), allowing us to expand our personal music libraries without buying an original.
Unfortunately, those copied cassettes were never perfect. The music was often grainy or crackly, the tape skipped words (or broke, meaning it could no longer be played), and the quality just wasn’t quite the same.
It was fun to have a copy and feel a little “sneaky” for a few days, but we all knew the original had status and was way cooler.
Fast forward to today.
In our world of AI-generated content, it’s our REAL stories that make our writing authentic and memorable.
Our stories, experiences, and opinions bring content to life. They give readers something to connect with. They are how we keep the HUMAN element in our writing.
And here’s where things get interesting…
Today, Amazon and Ingram use tools like Pangram to try to determine whether content was written by a human or generated by AI. But can these tools really tell the difference? And what happens when a completely human-written manuscript gets flagged as AI-generated?
Over the next few posts, we’ll explore what authors need to know about AI detection, protecting their original work, and keeping their authentic voice in the publishing process.
Because technology may change how we write, but it shouldn’t erase what makes our stories worth reading.
Your experiences matter.
Your voice matters.
Make sure your book reflects both!
